A few months back when my mom was visiting me in Dubai, we planned a long weekend in Jordan. We spent time in Amman and Petra, which was incredible. I didn’t realize how spread out the sites are, so unfortunately we did not get to see Wadi Rum. I did, however, have the best falafel of my life at the old school spot Al Quds Falafel on Rainbow St. It lived up to the hype, and is so cheap and delicious.
I also managed to finally get my hands on a ZD Suzani scarf. I love shopping local designers during my travels, and I discovered ZD Suzani at least a year ago on Instagram. After a few DMs back and forth, I found myself at her house, with an awesome new scarf in my possession. Here are a few of my fave spots in Amman:
Favorite coffee shop: Shams el balad cafe
Favorite Street Art/ Zhila thing : the El Seed piece on a Jabal Amman rooftop
Favorite cheap eat: Al Quds Falafel
Favorite area: Rainbow Street
Favorite historical site: the Citadel
Favorite local designer: ZD Suzani
