Beirut and Byblos

I was invited by my friend May for a weekend in Beirut to attend her friends Karim and Marina’s wedding. As a guest with no pre-wedding activities or obligations, I took the chance to head out of town to Byblos on my own, and then spent the day with my lovely friend Heba, who had recently moved to Beirut from Dubai. Heba was an amazing tour guide, and by the end of the day we realized that we had covered nearly everything in the recent guide posted by Vogue. I marked 2 Zhila Things off my list – finally purchasing my first Sarah’s bag, an awesome backgammon board style clutch, and finding Yazan Halwani’s street art mural of Sabah. Can’t wait to go back for more, but here are a few of my favorites:

Favorite restaurant: Tawlet

Favorite boutique: Sarah’s Bag

Favorite jewelry store: Rosa Maria

Favorite museum: Sursock Museum

Favorite bookstore: Paper cup

My only regret is that I didn’t run into makeupbyfifo.

What I wore to the wedding: Kaftan from Anotah, Clutch from Sarah’s Bag, Gentle Monster Big bully sunglasses
